Evgeniy Baranov
In 1978 Eugeniy Baranov graduated from LGITMK (course of Igor Vladimirov) and for long years dedicated his life to Lensoveta theatre.
He worked there about 20 years.
In 1995 he had leaved Lensoveta theatre for the Theatre of Comedy. He was invited by the director Tatyana Kazakova.
He had played wide range of roles in Lensoveta – from strange people of all sorts to the love heroes, but as the critics said in Kazakova’s stage plays he had revealed his main theme – “drama of a man, who had stepped out of his own small world and had been put in the constant flow of events.
Creative alliance of Actor and Director, that resulted in such stage plays as “Difficult people”, “Clavier for career starters”, “My cherry orchard” and “Lovers” fell to pieces 8 years later. Eugeniy Baranov returned to the Lensoveta company. Today his name can be much more often seen on the poster of Russian Anreprize theatre than on the poster of his workplace theatre. One of very important periods of his career was dedicated to the work with one-man shows “Fool’s sleeps” and “Sentenced”. They were presented during the “Monokl” festival.
In 1999 Eugeniy Baranov became an Honored Artist of Russia.
Evgeniy Baranov about Epikhodov:
Epikhodov is the most modern hero in this play. Who is a clerk nowadays? He is an office worker. A man without a face. Ha always had a lack of love and now can not understand, what it is. He can not feel it, only think about it.
