Alina Rudnitskaya

Alina Rudnitskaya has been directing documentaries since 2002. Winner of the Russian National Lavr Award and the Russian Guild of Film Critics' White Elephant award, her films has been shown worldwide and won numerous awards at festivals in Leipzig, Madrid, Oberhausen, Toronto, Zagreb, Berlin, Belgrade, Moscow, St.Petersburg et al.
Rudnitskaya's documentaries always have a characteristic original perspective; her interest is not just in the facts of life but also exploring the internal world of her protagonists. She manages to give a vivid image of modern people, while maintaining a personal and humanistic approach to all of her stories. Her vivid visuals set her work apart from many others. She lives and works in St. Petersburg. Currently, she is working on a new film.
